Indy Southside Church of the Nazarene exists to shine our light on Jesus and to make fully-developed disciples in our immigrant communities here in Indianapolis. We understand that God is literally bringing nations right to our front door, and sharing the gospel with them is not something we take lightly. We love all people groups, and here are some of the ministries we offer that are geared specifically towards our immigrant communities...
MATU WORSHIP: After our English services on Sunday, we offer worship services in the Matu language from Myanmar, led by our Matu pastor, Zo Zum Kuihon in partnership with Bethlehem Matu Church. We also have combined services for special occasions, monthly outdoor fellowships in the spring and summer, and our Southside Kids, Southside Wee Worship, and Southside Students ministries are combined ministries all year long.
SEANBC, US EXTENSION: Indy Southside is the proud host of the only US Extension of Southeast Asia Nazarene Bible College which is located in Bangkok, Thailand. We host online classes in Burmese through the college and have a weekly personal mentoring time with Pastor Ray and Pastor Zo Zum.
ESL CLASSES: For all immigrants in our community, we partner with Central Nine Adult Education to offer free English Second Language classes to all language groups. In the past, we have taught students who speak Swahili, Mandarin, Matu, Burmese, Spanish, and more. The classes meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM, and are absolutely free of charge.
DIVERSITY CLASS: Indy Southside has a biweekly, small group style diversity class led by a member of our leadership team, immigration lawyer Tabitha Villarubia-Adams, in which we engage in meaningful discussions about race, ethnicity, and immigration as well as diversity training and more.
